TTAG Reveals The Actual Reason Behind The Postponement Of Reopening Date For Colleges Of Education

Inability Of Government To Pay Trainees Allowance Resulted In Postponement Of Reopening Date For Colleges Of Education-TTAG

The Leadership Of the Teacher Trainees Association Of Ghana has attributed the postponement of the reopening date of Colleges Of Education to the failure of government to pay the trainees allowance.
Teacher Trainees allowance has not being paid for the past seven months which TTAG believe is that main reason which has compelled the government to postponed the reopening date to January, 2022.

TTAG in a short article published by Pbagez has stated emphatically that the reason given by Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the postponement of the reopening date
for the 46 public Colleges Of Education is baseless and must be condemned.

It will be recalled that On Monday, 1st November, 2021 a press release from Ghana Tertiary Education Commission addressed to the National Conference Of Principals Of Colleges Of Education has indicated that the reopening date for level 200 and 300 B.Ed students has been postponed to January, 2022 till further notice.
According to GTEC, this decision is to enable the Colleges Of Education Academic Calendar to be in alignment with that of five public Universities they affiliated with.
