It will be recalled that on Monday, 4th July 2022, the Leadership of the four Teacher Unions declared an indefinite strike over the failure of the government to pay them Cost Of Living Allowance popularly known as COLA.
Schools To Remain Open Amidst Teachers Strike
The management of the Ghana Education Service in a press release stated all Government Basic Schools across the country should remain open despite the ongoing strike by the Teacher Unions.
•GES has directed Heads Of Senior High Schools to mobilize their management teams to ensure the safety and well-being of all students
•All Stakeholders are to also ensure that Basic School Heads keep schools open and closely supervise all Children who report to school pending further directives from authorities
