2022 BECE Begins Today
In a release from the examing body, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) disclosed that BECE will commence from 17th October – 21st October 2022.
This year, 2022 BECE will be written by both the Schools and Private Candidates in the country concurrently.
In the statement released by the Council, their reason for the above action hinged on low entries of Private Candidates years ago.
2022 REGISTERED BECE CANDIDATE STATISTICS
Statistics have it that 18,501 schools have registered for the 2022 BECE with a total of 552,276 candidates. The centers for the exams according to WAEC are 2,023.

The statistics of registered Private Candidates in this year’s exams is 1,132. A total of 15 centers have been allocated to them as well.
Further, they added that 227,988 and 275,288 males and females made up the candidates respectively. The statistics of Private Candidates for the 2022 Basic Certificate Education Examination (BECE) sum up to 1,132.
From the registered number of candidates above, 498 are females while the rest 634 are males.
WAEC cautioned all candidates and all exam officials to desist from any form of examinations malpractices that would transpire at the centers come 17th October 2022, and adhere to the rules laid by the body to govern examinations worldwide.
