The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

History of New Nsutam Senior High Technical School

The New Nsutam Senior High Technical School, popularly called NUTECH, is located in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern Region. It is located about 1 km from the Bunso Junction on the Accra-Kumasi highway. It was established as a Day school in September 1982 but co-existed with the Junior Secondary School. It had its first substantive Headmaster on 5th March 1985 in the person of Mr. Agyei Aninfeng. The school has the motto: “Cookware Nnsuma” (‘The truth does not hide’).
For effective and efficient organization and management of students, the school has a well-designed four-housing system. Healthy competition among the students in academic, sports, and co-curricular activities allows the students who pass
through the school to perform creditably.
