The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION

Agate SHS was founded in the year 1983 as a private community secondary school. It was then absorbed by the government in January 1991.

VISION
A Senior High School that will be a national model for holistic education and development of students forfurther education and adult life through competency-based training, with professionally qualified and
effective teachers in a congenial atmosphere and partnership with stakeholders.

MISSION
The school exists to provide real education and training with an emphasis on science, mathematics and ICT to its students using effective and efficient training and learning methodology by highly motivated
professional staff in partnership with resourceful stakeholders in a conductive environment preparing students that are well disciplined morally, socially, and academically.
