The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
Asuansi Technical Institute is the front runner in Technical Education in Ghana. It began as a rural school on 12th August 1917 to train pupils up to standard 3 in reading, writing and arithmetic. It was converted into a Trade School to encourage V,ocatiMetalworktion in Agriculture, Carpentry, Masonry and Metal work in 1922. Further transformations occurred over the years till 1963 when it was re-named Asuansi Technical Institute to run Craft Courses. The 2007 Education Reforms transmuted the curriculum of the institute with the integration of the core subjects.
The Programmes currently are run at the COTVET Certificate II level.

To provide a center of excellence that seeks to provide demand-driven technical and vocational education and training to meet the dynamics of the labor market in all situations.

To provide the youth with employable skills that would make them more competitive adaptable and functioning in meeting the challenges of the the21st-century market economy
