The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

Bankoman Senior High was established as a
Community Day Secondary school to provide
secondary education for the students of Banko
and the surrounding villages. It collapsed on threeoccasions until 2012 when it was absorbed into the Public system.
The school is situated on about 90-acres land at
Banko in the Sekyere Kumawu District of Ashanti Region. Unfortunately, there is no dormitory on the campus and students are living at a community Centre in town and have to be conveyed every morning to the school.
To be one of the best schools par excellence and promote holistic education.
To effectively utilize the limited resources available to teaching and non-teaching staff and other facilities to promote teaching and learning and also to provide requisite training to our students through fanfares, exhibitions, sports, and others to develop their capabilities at all levels of life.
