The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is the first external examination written in Ghana’s educational system.

Students are well equipped to face the external world of education different from the usual terminal or semester exams since their Primary School days.

A timetable is released to all Basis Schools (JHS) ahead of the scheduled day across the country’s length and breadth.

The examination uses only a week or two (2) to finish writing and the results are normally released in less than three (3) months for students to have access to and further into the Senior High School (SHS)
