About GES Official Academic Calendar For Basic Schools & SHS
The management of the Ghana Education Service has today 8th February 2023 officially announced the approved 2022/2023 academic calendar for primary, Junior High Schools and Senior High Schools across the country.
According to a communique issued by the GES, detailing the 2023 Academic Calendar, Basic schools (KG/Primary & JHS) will vacate on 25th March, 2023 and reopen on 3rd April, 2023. This will mean that, they will spend eleven weeks in school in their first term.

The trimester is divided as follows:
Term 1:
10th January 2023- 24th March, 2023 (11 Weeks)
Vacation 25th March to 2nd April, 2023 (9 days)
Term 2
3rd April to 15th June 023 (11 Weeks)
Vacation 16th June to 26th June, 2023 (11days)
Term 3
27th June to 1st September 2023 (12 Weeks)
Vacation (15th September to a yet to be determined date) yet-to-be-determined.
