The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION

Ghanata Senior High School, formerly called the Gold Coast People College, was founded as a national co-educational institution on the 3rd February 1936 at Adidome in the Volta Region by Rev, Isaac Doe Osabutey-Aguedze and Rev. F.K. Fiawoo, as co-founders with quite a representative group of sixteen (16) students from almost all the regions of the then Gold Coast, British and French Togoland, except the Northern territories.

To be a center of high-quality education based on discipline and a conducive academic environment through the most prudent and effective use of available resources.
MISSION
Improving teamwork among staff to provide modern and adequate teaching and learning with the use of instructional materials to discipline the mind, body, and spirit of students with the cooperation of the community, parents, and Government.
