The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
Mepe St. Kizito Senior High Technical School, formerly known as Mepe Technical Institute was founded in the year 1988 with the core mandate of providing technical training for students in the Mepe community and its environs. It is sited in Mepe, a fast-growing fishing community with a population size of about 15,000 people. It is located close to the Volta Lake in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region of Ghana. The school took off with an initial enrolment of 24 students and 5 teachers and offered a purely technical program that included building construction and woodwork. In the year 1994, the school was absorbed into the Public system and assumed the new name, Mepe St. Kizito Senior High
Technical School.
