All Presidents in Ghana still take salary after leaving office as a President. Ex-President John Dramani Mahama retired on a salary of GH¢22,809.00. Ex-Presidents JJ Rawlings and J A Kuffuor also receive a nontaxable salary of GH¢15,972.00 at the end of every month.
