We bring to you warm regards from the National Secretariat of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana. In pursuant to the Communique issued at the end of the 25th General Assembly. the leadership of the Association through this leadershipmissive wantsundercate to all teacher trainees on developments made after engagements with stakeholders on 19″ and 20 May 2021.

Synopsis of the outcome of the meetings are scribed below

  1. THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

Payment of Allowance

The Minister of Education, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum stated categorically that funds have been released by the Government for the payment of the allowances for trainees across the 46 public Colleges of Education. He emphasized on Government’s commitment to paying the allowances since it is a significant intervention to teacher trainees. He admonished trainees to remain resolute as the processing goes through the necessary stages.

Feeding component of Allowance

On the issue of the feeding component of the allowance for which trainees were not fed on campus, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum assured the leadership of his stance to engage stakeholders involved in this. He admonished the constituents of TTAG to remain calm as he’s ready to delve into the issue for fairness to prevail between the two parties.

Blended Educational System in Colleges of Education

From the Communique issued at the end of the 25h General Assembly, the leadership of TTAG at the engagement made it known to the Minister for Education some major challenges posed by the blended system of learning. The
the leadership of TTAG further elaborated on the recommendations made at General
Assembly by delegates for which Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum promised to engage
various stakeholders with the keen quest to mitigate them as soon as possible.

Payment of allowance

The leadership of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission acknowledged the fact that indeed funds have been released for the payment of allowances of teacher trainees. Prof. Mohammed Salifu further reiterated that the constituents of this noble association should remain calm as processes are deft-handed.
admonished all teacher trainees to disregard any information from bloggers who tend to give false hopes by stating dates meant tor allowances to be paid.
To that, he advised trainees to consider releases from the Secretariat of SLTF and TTAG on issues of payment of allowance.
