Abolish Online Studies in Colleges of Education-PRINCOF Told

Ghana Education Service(GES) is calling on the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education as a matter of urgency to abolish the online studies currently run by Colleges of Education in Ghana.
GES disclosed this last week during a meeting with PRINCOF.
According to GES, the online studies introduced in colleges of Education are flooded with challenges such as poor internet connection, high cost of data bundle, lack of concentration due to other domestic activities, inactive interaction between the lecturers and students among others.

PRINCOF has, however, challenged
the decision of GES to abolish online studies due to inadequate facilities to accommodate all students from level 100 to 400.

Online Education was introduced in Colleges of Education in 2020 due to the outbreak of Covid-19 and the inability to accommodate all B.Ed students on campus.
Change in Curriculum has necessitated the introduction of the Double Track System in Colleges of Education where a section of the students will receive face-face lectures whilst others stay home and receive tuition online.
