Breaking: CCT Calls On GES To Reverse Vacation Date For Basic Schools

A press release issued by the Communication Director of the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana and intercepted by Sky News Gh is urging the management of the Ghana Education Service and Ministry Of Education as a matter of urgency to reverse the extension of vacation date for basic schools.

“We are calling on GES to reverse this decision with immediate effect and allow teachers to proceed on their vacation,” CCT added.
According to the Coalition Of Concerned Teachers(CCT), the academic calendar for 2021 is supposed to end on 7 December 2021 for the JHS and 10
December 2021 for the Pre-school and Primary and not 17th December 2021.

Headteachers
Further checks conducted by Skynewsgh.com have revealed that the management of GES has scheduled tomorrow 8th December 2021 to officially communicate this directive to headteachers of the various basic schools.

Reference
The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has directed that all basic schools should vacate on 17th December 2021 instead of the 10th December, initially scheduled.
This directive is meant to enable Primary four pupils to undertake the National Standardized Test by the Ministry of Education scheduled for 17th of December, 2021.
