The basis for their industrial strike action was an issue “against the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission’s unilateral action to vary CETAG”s 2021 Conditions of Service to a later date.”
Relating to the demands of CETAG, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Education Minister in a letter dated 7th December 2022 appealed to call off the strike action.
In the letter, he said, “following the meeting held with the leadership of CETAG on Monday, the 5th of December 2022, I reiterate the plea for the strike to be called off for further discussions on the following:
- The effective date for the implementation of the conditions of service.
- The generic allowances.
- Compensation for All Year Round Work 4. Determination of a Road Map for the staff audit.
“As agreed, a meeting of all stakeholders shall be called immediately after the strike is called off to resolve the issues within two weeks.”
Several efforts were put inafteraftero solving the Conditions of Services for the members of CETAG yet none of the efforts proved worth working for an amicable end to the issue.
Recently, it has been rumored that CETAG will lose their December salary if the industrial strike action as announced on 14th November 2022 continues to week 4.
