SHS 1 Reopening Date February 2023

Here is the SHS 1 Reopening Date for fresh students announced by Ghana Education Service.

Ghana Education Service (GES) has disclosed the registration and orientation date for all JHS graduates whose School placement has been released today, 15th February 2023.

REPORTING DATE FOR SHS 1 STUDENTS

During the press conference held by GES earlier in the day, Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Director-General of GES said SHS 1 students (2022 JHS graduates) are to report to their various Senior High Schools and Technical, Vocational, Education, and Training (TVET) schools by 20th February 2023.

It was announced by GES also that starting today, 15th February 023 the JHS graduates are to report to their respective school of placement by 20th February 2023.

REGISTRATION & ORIENTATION OF SHS 1 STUDENTS

GES said all SHS 1 students are to use the one week for registration and Orientation. It means, from 20th February 2023 to 27th February 2023 SHS 1 student have to work on their admission processing.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR SHS 1 STUDENTS

The SHS 1 students will commence their serious academic work /or classes will begin on 27th February 2023 across all the Senior High Schools and Technical, Vocational, Education, and Training (TVET) schools in the country.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released school placement for graduates of the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) into Senior High Schools and Technical, Vocational, Education, and Training (TVET) schools across the country.

Ghana Education Service said the 2022 JHS graduates can log in to the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) to check their school of placement.

Dr. Eric Nkansah advised parents to avoid persons posing as “Middlemen” to get placement to preferred schools.

How many candidates sat for the 2022 BECE?

Per the GES press conference today, 15th February 2023, they said 547,329 candidates sat for 2022 BECE.

Further, they detailed that out of the above total candidates who sat for the 2023 BECE, 538,399 qualified for school placement.

How many of the 2022 JHS graduates had placement?

GES announced 372,780 candidates are JHS graduates who have automatically been placed into various schools.

How many JHS graduates will do self-placement?

A total of 165,601 candidates will do self-placement because they could not be matched to their school of choice.
