The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and under subscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

Wenchi Methodist Senior High School (WESS) is one of the few good schools in the Brong Region of Ghana, with an improvement in academics and sports. Teachers in the school are well vested in their specialized areas which makes classroom and other curricular activities more exciting, interesting and encouraging.

Wenchi Methodist Senior High wishes to be one of the best schools in the training of students who are disciplined, methodical, confident, honest and always ahead of their peers in Ghana.
MISSION
Wenchi Methodist Senior High exists to train students to be disciplined in character building, academic excellence, and spiritual upliftment, sending them out as ambassadors who would affect and infect the world with excellent morals, the fear of God, through Jesus Christ. The visually impaired are not left out in our mission.
