The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
Wamanafo Senior High Technical School is the second post-basic institution to be established in the Dormaa Traditional Area after Dormaa Senior High School. The idea of establishing the school was conceived by three citizens, namely, Messrs Gyabaa Kwame, Amponsah Kyeremeh, and Nana Yaw Nsiah.
The school was founded on 19th October 1984 in abandoned cocoa shed, with eleven(11) boys and five(5) girls. It was registered as a Community Private School in 1985 by the Ghana Education Service. In 1991 the school was absorbed into the Public System. The school is currently located between Wamfie and Wamanafo off the main Berekum–Dormaa Ahenkro road.
VISION
To raise the status of the school to enable it comto Pete favorably with other sec second-cycle institutions in and outside the country.
MISSION
Wamanafo Senior High Technical School exists to equip its students with requisite skills competencies and high moral standards to enable they function positively for the benefit of themselves and society.
