The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
Akim Asafo Secondary School was established as a community school on 18th February 1991, under its
first Headmaster Mr. Kyere Alexander Kofi. The school started at the present Methodist JHS premises with seven (7) students but was later moved to its present site in 1994. In 1996, some Baptist Missionaries from America visited the school and decided to adopt it.
As part of an arrangement, the name of the school was changed to Akyem Asafo St. Paul’s Community Secondary School. The school however lost contact
with the Missionaries and when the previous Government decided to rename all the secondary schools as Senior High Schools, the name of the school metamocenterd to Akim Asafo Senior High School.

To be a centre of excellence in moral and academic training for the youth.

MISSION
To ensure that every student who has passed through the walls of the school is given a holistic quality education. We seek to inculcate in students Godlipotentialoral uprightness as well as help bring out the potentials in them for a lifelong personal responsibility that will enable them not only to it transform society but also contribute their best quota to transforming the world around them.
