Government Accredited Colleges of Education in Ghana
Colleges of Education are specialized institutions of higher learning established by th Ghana of Government to train Teachers in both content and pedagogical skills needed to impart to the citizens of Ghana.
In 2012 Colleges of Education Act (Act 847) was passed to give full legal backing to the conversion oI Teacher Training Colleges to Colleges of Education
Degree programs in Colleges of Education.
In October 2018, the Government of Ghana has rollout four years Bachelor of Education Degree programs in Colleges of Education in Ghana to improve the quality of teaching of teachers produced in Ghana.
This implies that the minimum qualification for teaching at the country’s basic schools is now Bachelor of Education
