The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION

Garu Community Day Senior High is one of the “excellent” schools (E- schools) constructed as part of the secondary education improvement project in
Ghana is sponsored by the World Bank.
The school became operational during the 2018 / 2019 academic year.

VISION
A peaceful and conducive institution where high academic skills/knowledge, sound moral integrity training, and dedication of the youth are developed
to prepare them for tertiary education to feed the job market.

MISSION
To provide quality and relevant secondary education to all students irrespective of ethnicity, religion or
gender to enable them to acquire functional skills and training, that will assist them to develop the potential
for further education in tertiary institutions and careers.
