The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
Technology Secondary School, now KNUST Senior High School was founded in February 1961 by the late Dr. R. P. Baffour, the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology, to provide Secondary/Technical Education for students who would eventually enter the University.
Since the School was directly under the control of the University, the Vice-Chancellor appointed an Advisory Committee to manage its affairs, but its day-to-day running was in the hands of wives of some Senior Lecturers of the University.
VISION
To be the Secondary and Technical Institution of choice for students who would eventually enter the university.
MISSION
Consistently monitor our students and teachers in running programs of study to achieve both academic and moral excellence.
