Latest Update On On Student Loan Payment And Other Matters

Here is the latest update from the National Union Of Ghana Students (NUGS) on student loan payment.

UPDATE ON STUDENT LOAN PAYMENT AND OTHER MATTERS.

The National Union of Ghana Students has taken steps to ensure effective collaboration with the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) to plan the implementation of an improvement plan to enhance the services of the loan scheme to all students

2. The Union has begun working determinedly to ensure the payment of loans in arrears to beneficiaries. The assurance is that SLTF will accelerate the payment of backlog for last semester to beneficiaries, hopefully by the close of next week. In lieu of this SLTF has agreed to work on Saturday and Sunday to ensure that timelines are met.

The Union, upon a proper scrutiny of the reasons behind some challenges of disbursement has realized that one major contributor to delays in loan disbursement Instead of errors in the submission by students during application. Some among others are: uploading of full picture stead of a passport picture, mismatch of information, etc.
We would encourage students to take their time to provide accurate information during
application to avoid any rejection by the system.
Equally, students who have received text messages for biometric register traction should attend to it as soon as possible. All other applicants should use this opportunity to visit various SLTF offices to complete all other processes.
As stated earlier, the Union will do it best to ensure funds are disbursed in due time, as we also
seek to progress conversations on the appointment of a National Student Loan Officer and Local Student Loan Officer for the various campuses: a systematic provision to an improved responsiveness obituary about the scheme.
