News In:Fosco Bags 27 First Class at the 12th congregation Ceremony

Foso College of Education affectionately known as the University of Assin was established in 1965 under Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s regime to train teacherholisticallyer. FOSCO was the first college to obtain first-classes when the Diploma in Basic Education was introduced into the colleges they the University of Cape Coast, Institute of Education. And since then FOSCO has become the Oasis of academic excellence and a beacon of hope in the teaching fraternity.

On 27th May 2021, a virtual congregation ceremony was held to officially graduate the last batch of DBE students. The ceremony saw 27 first-class students, 304-second class students, and 43 third class. The 12th congregation was graced by different dignitaries ranging from academia through the political arena to chieftaincy.

The governing council chairman, Prof. Dominic Danso Mensah admonished the graduands to be of good behavior as they represent the college. He further charges them to arise and shine.

The Principal, Dr. Anthony Baabereyir seized the opportunity to elaborate on the challenges and achievements the college has chopped recently. Some of the challenges include inadequate staff strength, conditions of service, inadequate infrastructure, delay in the disbursement of allowance, uncompleted projects of which some stated around 2011 but are yet to be completed.
