The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools. Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed. We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls Senior High School was established by his Lordship, Most Rev. Mathew
Kwasi Gyamfi, the then Catholic Bishop of Sunyani Diocese in September 2006 in conjunction with the Sisters of the Congregation of the Handmaid of the Holy Child Jesus and the entire leadership of St Paul’s Parish Techiman. However, with the creation of the Techiman Diocese in 2008, the school is now under the jurisdiction of Most Rev Dominic Yeboah Nyarko, the Catholic Bishop of Techiman Diocese.

To be the best Girls Senior High School in Ghana that offers academic excellence and sound moral values.
MISSION
Mount Carmel Girls Senior High School aims at providing quality holistic Catholic Christian education to young women to enable them to develop their fullest potentials and be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to assume their rightful roles and contribute meaningfully to a changing society.
