The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
Sunyani High School, one of the products of the Ghana Education Trust, was established in 1958
by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the then Prime Minister of Ghana. The first batch of students 36, in number, comprising 31 Boys and 5 girls were
admitted on Friday 30th October 1960 and was later inaugurated in December 1960 by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It is located in the Sunyani municipality, just along the Sunyani-Kumasi Road.
VISION
The central purpose of the school is to provide a broad second cycle of education and sound training for the young men and women of the country.
MISSION
To provide an all-round education encompassing skills acquisition, enhanced literacy, numeracy,
physical development, sound moral training, and spiritual development, which will make students
productive and useful to themselves and the entire society, and also to instill in the students a sense of patriotism and sacrifice.
