The demand for secondary education has increased as a result of high completion rates at the Junior high School level. In response to this, several new public schools have been provided, whilst facilities in existing schools have been upgraded.
Trends in school placement from the Computer Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS)
indicate some disparity in the selection of schools. Students overwhelmingly choose the popular but few traditionally high-performing schools thereby leading to oversubscription of these schools.
Many schools that have significantly improved in recent years remain unknown and undersubscribed.
We believe that this anomaly is partly due to the lack of information available to students and parents.

DESCRIPTION
Our Lady of Providence Girls’ is a Catholic school for girls established through the initiative of the late
Bishop James Kwadwo Owusu, with the assistance of the religious community of the Sisters of Divine Providence, the year 1989.
These founding partners shared a vision that the renewal of society depends to a great extent, on the family in which the mother, the first educator, has a key role; that there is, a relationship between a mother’s level of education and the performance of her children in the school, that the mortality rate of infants, the health of the family, and the socioeconomic contribution of women to the development of the
country, depending on a vibrant female population.
Hence the motto of the School, “An educated woman the seed of a new generation.”

To become a center of excellence and one of the best Girls’ Senior High Schools in Ghana, educating and empowering young girls for the future.
