COE:What You Need To Know About Macro Teaching For Level 400 B.Ed Students.


Level 400 Teacher Trainees across the 46 Public Colleges of Education will from February, 2023 begin their internship(Macro Teaching) in a basic school.
We have gathered all that every trainee should know about Macro Teaching.

What Is Macro Teaching


Macro Teaching is a field experience in which the trainee spends one semester in a basic school setting on teaching practice. The trainee teachers are assigned classes and subjects under the guidance of school-based mentors. The student teachers would observe lessons to be delivered by their mentors and reflect on them, engage in peer planning and delivery of lessons and reflect on them.
The school-based mentors will also guide the trainee to perform the daily classroom routine such as planning and delivering full lessons, the marking of attendance register, and preparation of lesson notes.

COE: Documents Needed For Level 400 Macro Teaching
Teacher trainees are expected to reflect on these activities and document their reflections.
The lesson plan and its implementation must promote the learning progress of all students irrespective of their gender, socio-economic background.


How Supervision is going to be done


Supervisors from the Colleges of Education would visit the school regularly to monitor the trainee’s progress and offer professionals and academic supports.

How trainees are going to be assessed


The assessment comprises of three components namely:
Component 1(Formative Assessment): Observation of Practicum 1
Weighting:30%
Component 2 (Formative Assessment): Observation of Practicum 2
Weighting: 30%
Component 3( Summative Assessment): Observation of Practicum 3 by Panel of at least 2 Tutors.
Weighting:40%.
