Colleges Of Education 2023 Reopening Date Out

Here is the 2023 reopening date for colleges of education in Ghana.

The Institute For Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development under the University Of Education, Winneba has announced a new reopening date for colleges of education affiliated with the University.

It will be recalled that towards the end of the 2022 academic year, the semester for colleges of Education was disrupted by the nationwide CETAG industrial action on 11th November 2022.

The unprecedented industrial strike action by the Colleges of Education Teachers has brought the academic activities in colleges of education to a standstill which lead to the cancellation of the End of Semester Examinations for Level 200s and Level 300s in some Colleges.

By a collective decision by the Colleges affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba, as well as, the work program of ITECPD, the following Calendar has been issued for the guidance of all colleges to help complete the 2021/2022 acatoin order to commence the 2022/2023 academic year:

Both Levels are to report to the college on 3rd January 2023

Lectures are to start from 4th to 14th January for both levels.

UCC Affiliated COE Reopening Arrangements For Level 300 Students

Arrangements for Level 300 Students
Level 300 students;
-Are to report to the college on 9th January, 2023 and leave on 22nd, January 2023.
-will use the period to complete their syllabus for the 2nd semester.
-Are to use this same period to go through their orientation for the out segment of their programme.

Level 200s will commence their end-of-semester examination from the 16th to the 21st of January 2023

Level 300 students will commence their exams from 23rd to 28th January 2023.

Reopening Date For Prospective Level 100 B.ED

The information available to us from multiple sources has revealed that most colleges of education will admit their level 100 on 21st January whiles others on 30th January 2023.

Freshers are advised to stick to the date indicated on their admission letters.
It should be noted that the New Academic Year (2022/2023) Starts On 30th January 2023.

Notice To Final Year Students

All final students in colleges of education must note that their teaching practice will start immediately after their end-of-semester examination, therefore, adequate preparation should be made for that
