TTAG Releases Update On New Teacher Licensure Examination Pass Mark

ACTION TAKEN ON PROPOSED PASS MARK FOR THE GHANA TEACHER LICENSURE EXAMINATION (GTLE) AND LEVEL 400 PRACTICUM FEE CHARGED BY AFFILIATED UNIVERSITIES
We write to you on behalf of the National Secretariat of the Association to inform you about two important matters regarding the action taken on the decision to increase the pass mark for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) by the National Teaching Council (NTC) and practicum fees for level 400 Trainees charged by the affiliated Universities.

LICENSURE EXAMS
In light of the reform in the GTLE pass mark, we have taken immediate action to address the matter. The leadership has appealed to the Honorable Minister for Education and relevant stakeholders to intervene and initiate a dialogue with the NTC regarding the possibility of revisiting the decision to increase the pass mark for the GTLE from 50% to 70%.
PRACTICUM FEE
We have observed that various affiliated Universities charged fees for the first semester examination, which included teaching practicum, project work, and other related matters. Following our engagement with the respective affiliated Universities through the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of first-semesterNCOF), we have obtained the fee details for two of the institutions as outlined below:

We assure all Teacher Trainees that, we are actively engaging in proactive discussions with affiliated Universities to address the fee-related matters. Updates would be provided once a resolution is reached. We kindly request past Student Representative Councils (SRCs) to ensure fair treatment based on revised fee amounts. If any challenges arise, please notify us promptly.
