SNNIT is an abbreviation that stands for Social Security and National Insurance Trust. is a statutory public Trust charged under the National Pensions Act, 2008 Act 766 with the administration of Ghana’s Basic National Social Security Scheme. The scheme is also mandated to cater for the First Tier of the Three-Tier Pension Scheme.
The scheme has an active membership of over 1.6 million as of January 2021 with a total of 226,000 pensioners who regularly receive their monthly stipends from the insurance trust.
The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) wishes to inform the general public especially pensioners that from 1st September 2021 the scheme will start deleting the names of pensioners, aged 72 and above, who fail to complete or renew their Pensioner Certificates.
A pension Certificate is a certificate that is produced by pensioners to show that they are still alive.
How To Renew Pension Certificate
All pensions aged 72 and above should visit the nearest SSNIT office to renew the pension certificate.
However, pensioners with mobility challenges or any other should call this number below for more inquiries.
