Just In:We have Restored Teacher Trainee Allowances-President Akufo-Addo

The president of the Republic Of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo says his government has restored teacher trainee allowances since coming into the office five years ago.

The president said this on Tuesday, 4th January 2022 during the 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).

According to the President, the NPP Government will continue to pay teacher trainee allowances which were canceled by the New Democratic Party Government in 2015.

“We have restored , since coming into the office five years ago, and continue to pay, teacher trainee allowances, which were abolished by the previous administration.”

” for the first time in the history of Ghana, we are paying a professional allowance to teachers. We have abolished the three (3) months’ pay policy for teachers.”
