The report culled from Citi News Room has indicated that some National Service personnels are calling on the management of the National Service Secretariat to pay their allowances that have been in arrears for about five months.

“Even though the GH¢559 monthly allowances being paid to every nss personnel is not enough but timely disbursement of funds would mitigate the economic hardship we are currently facing”
“From the place that I stay to a place I was posted, the distance is very far, and I pick three vehicles before I get to work. I started working in October [2021] and now we are in March, and I have not received any money from them,” one of the personnel lamented.
Allowance Increment
some National Service personnels are calling on the Government Of Ghana to consider an increment in the monthly allowances.
Currently, National Service Personnels receive a monthly allowance of GH¢559 which is not enough to match up to the rising cost of living in the country.
