NTC Announces New Date To Begin Portfolio Assessment For Trainees, Details Here

The authorities of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced a new date to start portfolio assessment for teacher trainees in the various accredited Colleges Of Education after it has been suspended for 2020 newly trained teachers.

NTC Reveals Date To Conduct 2022 Licensure Examination For Newly Trained Teachers

Speaking at a Handling over ceremony organized by the Leadership of Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana held at Accra College Of Education, Dr. Christian Addai Poku, the Registrar of the Council said the portfolio Assessment for this year is targeted at current level 400 teacher trainees in Colleges Of Education.

“We have received complaints regarding the assessment since it is the first of its kind and the unfavorable time for the visitation as a result of the vacation of the basic schools.”

Commenting on the issues relating to the portfolio assessment, Dr. Addai Poku said the portfolio assessment for 2020 newly trained teachers will be conducted after the government completes the recruitment of newly qualified teachers in 2022.

According to the National Teaching Council, any newly qualified teacher who fails to participate in the impending portfolio assessment after the GES recruitment will not be given a teaching certificate.
